Italian follows underneath. italiano segue appello inglese. Iris has undergone her leg operation today. Her femur had to be set with an external metal plate which will be removed in 30 days. In the meantime she has to be still, so that the two ends of her femur join . Please start donating. Please do not leave us.

Iris. A most sad case of a stray female dog, which was abandoned, run into by a car and found injured, starving, and badly bitten by other stray dogs. Luckily rescued and put into a shelter, the X RAy immediately showed a badly broken fracture of her left hind leg femur. She needs an operation in order to avoid an impairing amputation . Iris is a very young and sweet female dog, a Breton. She was wondering, skin and bones , in an area of heavy trafic around Taranto, in the region of Apulia, Southern Italy.

An operation is urgently needed, and if not carried out as soon as possible , her hind leg will have to be amputated. The volunteer taking care of her, has been in contact with the Veterinary clinic of Bari, which specializes in this kind of operation. Iris needs a metal plate to be inserted into her leg, in order to put the two pieces of bone back together and bone splints to be surgically removed . The budget for the operation is 1,000 Euros, plus ENPAV tax (20 euros) plus Value added tax (IVA) 224,40 for a total of 1244,40 Euros. Besides,Iris will need hospital convalescence time, which will be of 70 euros a day and after that she will be transferred to a domestic environment, which should be around 15 euros per day, plus food and medication.

All the documentation of costs so far sustained, budget and medical ex rays and future invoices will be made available to donors for perusal .

We desperately want to avoid Iris a further trauma of a hind leg amputaion. This would make her future adoption a much more difficult if not impossible chance. She is young, the veterinary reckons she is 10 months old, and was presumably abandoned at the end of the hunting season, maybe because unfit for hunting .

Any donation, albeit small will give her a future. We warmly thank anyone who is willing to donate just only the price of a coffee or a newspaper or a pack of cigarettes. That would be a wonderful act of generosity.

The fundraiser will last 30 days, that is from today, St Valentine's day , to the 14th of March. Any eventual amount exceeding the budget will be used for Iris to be spayed. She is momentarily at a private shelter run by volunteer Miss Annalisa Desideria Caforio. Please help us to give poor Iris a normal life. She has had already a good deal of suffering. Iris è il nome di una cagnolina di razza Breton di meno di un anno, trovata ad inizio febbraio vagante su territorio di Taranto, Puglia, Italia, con la zampetta posteriore sinistra rotta. Affamata, scheletrita e piena di morsi, presumibilmente abbandonata perché inidonea alla caccia. E’ stata portata in rifugio dalla volontaria che l'ha trovata. La radiografia ha evidenziato una bruttissima frattura scomposta al femore. E’ necessario operarla per evitarle l’ amputazione. Il costo preventivato dell’intervento presso clinica veterinaria ortopedica di Bari, è di 1.000 euro. , piu' ENPAV più IVA per un totale di 1244,40 Euro cui si aggiungeranno i costi accessori della necessaria degenza post operatoria presso la clinica veterinaria di Bari e uno stallo post operatorio di circa 30 giorni al costo di 15 euro giornalieri più cibo e medicine. Purtroppo se non si procede con l’operazione , la sua zampetta dovrà essere amputata. Vogliamo evitare ad Iris questo ulteriore trauma. Ha già sofferto a sufficienza.

Una donazione, per quanto piccola, il costo di un caffè o di un pacchetto di sigarette , sarebbe un atto di grande generosità e donererebbe ad iris un futuro. Se dovesse esserle amputata la zampetta, la sua adozione come tripode diventerebbe ancora più difficile . Ringraziamo dal profondo del cuore chiunque vorrà donare per questa sfortunato esserino. La documentazione delle cure prestate finora è disponibile e così qualsiasi altra fattura delle cure a venire.
