My name is Amalia and my heart belongs to animals. Anyone who has visited Greece knows that the streets are full of stray cats and dogs who need our help. Especially Rhodes, an island so beautiful, but yet so broken.
I feed strays since I was a little. I could never leave behind these hungry souls that seek for my help. At 18, I was struggling about what I want to be when I grow up. Nothing satisfied me more than giving love to animals. I was thinking of becoming a vet, but, honestly, I could never take money to help animals in need. But that was my only passion in life. So I became a rescuer.
My life dream is to buy a big big field so I can built a big shelter for all the strays I see in the streets. I want to take home with me every single stray animal I come across. Sometimes I wish I could win the lottery and just spend a lifetime rescuing strays. Giving them love, comfort and a forever home.
Until then, I have a 9-5 job and I help them with anything I have. I feed and take care a lot of strays in the island, especially cats - they are everywhere in the streets. Whenever I come across a cat in need, I take it to the vet and trying to save it. Unfortunately, vets need money and I can't afford the prices. I do whatever it takes to save them, but money still runs the world. My heart breaks every time I can't help a soul in need because of it.
That's why I am here today, asking sincerely for your help. Emotionally I am strong, but financially I am not. I need your help so I can help all those strays.
They need me. And I need them to be happy and live a satisfied life from now on.
Thank you for your time reading my story.
Any help appreciated.
