Storybook Farm Sacred Animal Garden

Update posted by Tina Smith On Jul 12, 2018

A memorial is to be held at the beautiful Raby Bay Foreshore Middle Beach
90 - 110 Masthead Drive, Cleveland.

Please join the Storybook Farm - Sacred Animal Garden family in a celebration of the life of Krumm, a little dachshund with a big heart, who helped so many animals and people with disabilities in his lifetime.

It is due to his amazing work and the difference he made to the world that we are holding a memorial for our "Angel with Attitude".

We ask that you wear either a fedora hat ( Krumm's trademark hat) or the colour light blue in honour and support of our much loved boy.
Dogs of course will be very welcome to join us!

Here is just one of the many reason to support Storybook Farm Sacred Animal Garden for disabled and special needs animals.

Lisa-Jayne and the team see beyond the physical and mental ailment of the animal and look to the positives and what she and the team can do to enable that animal to have a chance at an active, fun, loved and cared for life. It means countless sleepless nights, trips to the vets, administering meds, physio, rehabilitation sessions and so much more. But as you will read below; you will see why LJ does what she does and she does it with total commitment and dedication.

The below is a post that LJ posted on Facebook, some some of you will be familiar with Jeremy Blu who was destine to be put to sleep at 9 weeks old........ And now a year later via LJ's dedication, patience and determination Jeremy Blu is a big full grown handsome fella going on a trial to a possible forever home.

Thank you LJ and team for all that you do for the animals that people think are beyond help. As you say 'From my heart to yours' we love you and what you do.

.......................................................................................................

This gorgeous boy is Jeremy Blu.

Jeremy came to us approximately a year ago with a condition commonly known as swimmers.

He was one of the worst cases we had seen , he was completely flat and unable to walk at all but he had a strong fighting spirit and a loving heart together an unbeatable combination.

He was due for euthanasia at 9 weeks of age but the vet put out a call on social media asking would anyone be open to helping this boy , several people saw the post and quickly nominated Storybook Farm.

We only had a short window of time to collect him and as I was a long distance away our lovely friend Kim agreed to meet up with the vet and hold him until we could get there .

We all ended up meeting in the IKEA carpark!

We took Jeremy Blu to the vets at UQ Vets Small Animal Hospital to be assessed and to come up with a long term treatment plan.

Some swimmers pups symptoms are easily and fairly quick to correct but Jeremy Blu took many months of consistent care from us here at the sanctuary before he was up on his paws .

I can tell you there wasn't a dry eye in the house the day he took his first steps!

Today Jeremy Blu is a happy bouncy boy ( although a little shy ) with only a sassy sway left in his walk as a clue to his earlier struggles.

A truly wonderful family has stepped forward to adopt our beautiful boy and he will shortly be going on trial to his new possible home.

Meanwhile look at the big beautiful smile on that cheeky face.......
it's that very expression of sheer happiness on his face that makes all the incredibly long hours absolutely worth it.

Would I do it all again???

Yes .

In a heartbeat ūüėä

From my heart to yours ‚̧
