We need your help with drop off storage and fuel costs!
As you all know we have been collecting and sending aid since October 2015 and the amazing people at Quickstore and Armadillo storage and the amazing ladies at QStore Business Centre at Saltash have given us drop off points for over 2 years. In order to collect and send aid we need storage and drop offs!!!
Well, the generosity of Armadillo (part of Big Yellow) continues and they have agreed to allow us to continue to use Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay as drop offs and storage at a discounted rate so we can continue.
So lovely people of social media and our supporters - we are asking for your help to cover the cost of the units and storage so we continue. We are asking for your help by donating a few pounds to supporting with what I know is something very close to all your hearts.
We require at least £400 per month for the storage units across the South West... so can you help with the first month! We have 4 in total which allows us to collect and ensure we continue to send pallets of aid across the Greece and vans across to France.
We also have fuel costs and expenses to pay so I have chucked an extra few pounds on the fundraiser to cover the fuel costs!
We have so many plans for this year, and our intention is to send more containers and more pallets of aid. In the last 12 months we have shipped 15 pallets of aid and one container and we have filled a van with food and aid to send over to Calais...what we have achieved is truly amazing. We are currently collecting once again for France. Details can be found in our Facebook Group - Open Hearts Open Borders - Refugee Aid
We support three specific projects - these are The Hope Cafe in Athens,Attika Human Support in Lesvos and Mobile Refugee Support covering Dunkirk and Calais. We also collect various other items which we deliver across the country to go to other charities and refugee causes - support resettlement her in the South West, so in a nutshell we do as much as we can and so much more.....and we are all volunteers.
Each year we choose a specific recipient for us Gift Box Appeal and this year it is The One Happy Family Community Centre in Lesvos.
We are completely transparent - every penny that we raise goes back into sending and collecting aid. We cover a huge area across the South West and work closely with many other groups sonf wonderful people including - Wadebridge Cornish Refugee Aid Project - Bude Refugee Support and Launceston Refugee Support Beyond Borders Totnes and One and All Aid
We are simply people helping people and the generosity down here in the South West of England is truly beautiful and we are so grateful and appreciate each and every person who helps us to achieve the amazing things we do... you contribute more than you know!!
Big love to you all and please keep supporting a cause that is so important in this world... we are all making a huge difference to 1000's of lives..
