My name is Annettea Mills, I am a Parprofessional for Richmond County School System in Augusta Ga. for over 25 years! On March 20, 2011 a Tragic Event happened to my family. My nephew who was 18 about to graduate High School was murdered on his job by a group of GANG rivials. James Sterling Gillette Jr. was a HERO that night as he prepared himself to SAVE the young lives of the other Young teens at this Birthday Party, he was holding the door for everyone to try to get to Safety when he was shot in the abedom and died on the floor of the Belair Conference Center! Sense this Tragic Event his mother and I have started a Non-Profit organzation called "CSRA Saving Our Students, Inc." we provide our students and parents and educators with high quailty of information in partnership with our community! We help our CSRA students & parents believe in themselves, respect others, and experience the JOY of going and working on our community Safely!
What is "CSRA Saving Our Students, Inc." (S.O.S.)? S.O.S. is a Non-Profit community based, youth and family serving organzation that specializes in working with and supporting the Youth teen and there families! S.O.S. helps prevent teens & young adults from making bad choices! We also teach about "Bullying", "Gang Awarness", "Substances Abuse", "Truants", "Dropping Out Of School" etc.! Evidence has suggested that S.O.S.'s approach to early intervention and ongoing Support for both Teens & Parents has a Positive impact on our CSRA community! S.O.S. ensures that parents get the help they need to Support their teen each and every time after an Event!!! Follow Ups are important! Communication is important!
The "CSRA Saving Our Students, Inc." family has come to ask for HELP! Our organzation only needs $700.00 more dollars for our 501c3 to be complete! Please SUPPORT S.O.S.'s Mission by helping with this Fundraiser! The S.O.S. experience for our teens & young adults is very much needed in the CSRA! We then can write grants for events & projects to keep our teens motivated and involved and OUT of TROUBLE! We also would like to start a "Bullying Academy" to help our teens understand the importance of not Bullying someone it could cause a Death! GETTING CLOSE, BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!
