Every choice we make shows how much we care for our world.Daily decisions on what we do,what we consume/ buy and how we choose to live affects the communities we build. At Straw Sheek, we want to switch over with a small change but with a very large impact to our environment. We have joined in the #refusethestraw and say no to plastic by providing recyclable Eco friendly paper straws made from environmentally friendly and recyclable materials for both commercial and home use in East Africa.

Our goal at Straw Sheek is to remove the use of plastic straws in the world by starting right here on our own back yard. The use of plastic straws has been a menace mainly due to its disposal .It is estimated that 500 Million plastic straws are used daily in most nations. The numbers are large and the effects are scary, and to think that 1 plastic straw takes approximately 200 years to fully decompose is even more alarming. Today, straws are used everywhere and most drinks are served with the plastic ones by default. Most of these are made from polypropylene .Not only does this chemical affect climate change but it also causes health related concerns(BPA released synthetic estrogen). Plastic is notorious in the lingering department and is still around and will be for many more years to come unless we do something about it.#refusethestraw.

We at Straw Sheek are joining in the campaign against plastic by making Eco friendly recyclable paper straws that serve the same purpose but are more kinder to the earth. The materials used are all natural, unbleached, renewable and recyclable.

What We are doing.

At Straw Sheek we are designing and doing production of hand made paper straws to help in the campaign against plastic. The straws serve the same purpose as the regular plastic ones minus the adverse effects. We design fun paper straws for all occasions that can be used in Bars,Restaurants, parties or just for home use. The designs can be customized to fit the users preference in terms of theme, template, colors, shape etc.

Our Aim.

During the month of July Straw Sheek wants to create awareness on the effects of using plastic straws and offer alternative recyclable paper straws in schools, eateries, local bars and restaurants, fast food joints and shoppng malls. We want to be able to produce the paper straws and donate 3000 units per month as we slowly build up to larger amounts and expand to different cities and countries in Africa. We also want to do activation in universities to advocate for the campaign and educate on why this is the time to do this!

We also intend to raise awareness through an anti-plastic walk to make many others join in our campaign.

Where You come in.

Your contribution will go a long way in our cause, for all our efforts and passion.

Most importantly, what your support will represent for each one of us is the opportunity to keep on working on this amazing journey:to completely eradicate the use of plastic straws and to support the #refusethestraw campaign.

Thank you for your support!
