Stop Drowning

It's the same story for millions of people, most of them worse off, but we are trying to pay off debt accumulated as a result of separation and rising costs of living in supporting four children. When I separated from my husband ten years ago and had three children to raise, credit cards kept me going. They are still going today.

I reunited with my husband and had another child (a Surprise) and costs have been adding up, making paying off credit cards almost impossible. We transfer balances to low interest cards, but never seem to pay them off in the alotted time. My husband works full time, sometimes 6 or 7 days a week and I have worked on and off and have a casual job that is sporadic while looking for more stable employment which is hard to find. Everytime we get some extra money in, an extra expense pops up.

My kids often go without, in the form of new shoes, when holes appear, I put patches on their trousers when they wear out the knees, 2 minute noodles is an all too often regular for dinner and what the hec is a family holiday?  

I don't smoke or drink either.

We have our mortgage, which is half my husbands pay and would consider selling if it were not for the fact that my children love this house so much and that they have been moved 14 times already in their short lives. 

So before you get bored, in short, we are happy to keep our mortgage, (it would be more manageable without our credit card debt) and are just asking for the money to clear our cards. This would improve my familys lot immensely and while I have no rewards to offer, I give my sincere and most grateful thanks for your generosity and compassion especially since we are not alone in our struggles. Perhaps this will allow us to be in a position to help someone else in kind in the future!
