I am a South African based visual artist and painter whose work aims to save the lives of People With Albinism (PWA) who have fallen prey to our misinformed societies across Africa. Albinism is a skin condition where an individual suffers from a lack of the melanin pigment which therefore affects the colour of their skin, hair as well as their sight. To read up more on Albinism, kindly visit: https://bmcinthealthhumrights.biomedcentral.com/ar...

I hope to educate people through my paintings and eventually rid the stigma behind the killings of people living with Albinism. I ought to do this through a very emotive and visually artistic approach using very specific subject matter consisting of hyperrealistic portraits of familiar personalities in order to create a sense of relativity between the artwork and the viewer. I then aim to play with human psyche through the use of very rich tones and immense contrast between the focal point and background. The ultimate goal is to create a complete body of work that will be understood and received accordingly universally. Thereafter the paintings will be auctioned to major art collectors of which all the accumulated funds will be donated to children living with Albinism in South Africa and the surgical optical correction of their visual impairment, more specifically poor vision, involuntary nystagmus, strabismus, photophobia, poor depth perception, poor visual acuity and refractive errors.
