Stolen Birthday Present

Last year I hit a milestone birthday I never thought I'd reach. The BIG 50 !!  Some people dread  getting older, but for me it was an age I never thought I'd see. You see, 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer as well as a rare lung disease called Coccidiodmycosis. Having either one of these diseases alone is a tough fight , togeather however, fatal. After 9 surgeries and the loss of my left lung I was givin 6-8 months to live. Devestated doesn't come close to describing how I felt. All I could think about were my children, never watching them graduate, get married, have children. At this point I couldn't work and had no insurance, but because I was an U.S. Army veteran I was able to receive medical care through the VA (Veterens Hospital). I was offered an experimental treatment and after  5 years I was put in remission, 5 years later, clean bill of health. So then comes my 50 th birthday. For 10 years I fought for my life and now it was time to live. I got to watch the kids graduate, my son got married and gave me a beautiful granddaughter. NOW its my turn to really live.. For my 50th birthday present I bought myself a brand new Harley Davidson Sportster, learned how to ride, and began a new chapter in my life. It was the best feeling I've ever had to climb on that motorcycle and ride, I was free, I was alive and life was good. I was so sad when I had to put it away for the winter, but I knew I'd be back on it come spring. And I was Until... Sunday May 11, 2013 after a day of riding I put my bike away and went to bed. Excited about mothers day the next day and getting to see my son and daughter and granddaughter. Unfortunatly there was no excitement. Sometime after midnight someone broke into my garage and stole my beautiful motorcycle. It has never been recovered. Happy Mothers Day. I would like to purchase another motorcycle for my birthday again this year. Unfortunatly it took everydime I had to get the first one. Any donations would be greatly appreciated in helping me replace my stolen birthday present.
