Campaign Story
Hello,
My name is Steve and I am a stroke survivor.
In January 2010 I woke up one morning having had a stroke as I slept. The stroke affected my speech and balance and left me with residual left sided weakness and a cognitive deficit. I spent a total of 6 months in rehabilitation.
My journey over the last 8 years has been a tough one, certainly testing my resilience in many areas of life.
As a person living with a disability, I wanted to set myself a goal that was BIG as well as challenging.
So............. my goal is to represent Australia in 2020 at the Tokyo Paralympics in 10m Indoor Air Rifle (SH2).
I have an amazing coach who considers that I have the motivation and potential to compete at an elite level within my chosen sport. I have so far obtained a club trophy for most improved in 2017 as well as 2 Gold medals in the Australia Cup 4, SH2 category.
Any amount that you can donate is greatly appreciated and all funds raised will go towards equipment, coaching and travel for competitions.
