Southern Cape Bunny Haven is a registered NPO Animal Rescue, NPO 241-476 and located in the Garden Route of South Africa.
In October 2020 we rescued 48 rabbits from a very bad situation where they were bred esp for snakefood. These mommy bunnies we rescued were kept in filthy plastic crates to have babies, taken away at one day old, as snake food. Many of these females have not seen sun or grass before we rescued them.
Further more we had the 2 most stunning bunny mommies dumped, and they were rescued highly pregnant.
We had 7 mommies safely deliver their babies inside the Haven; and 8 mommies that have just lost their babies; while we rescued 18 adolescent bunnies and 4 daddies.
(This was only in October)
While the cruelty case is ongoing, and we cannot disclose too much info yet, the bunnies' lives does not stop; and we need to sterilize these babies ASAP so they can find loving homes. They have a second chance in life... but where we stay we may never let them leave unsterilized.
Please help us to sterilize them all. All adult males and adolecent males as well as some females were allready sterilized within the first 2 weeks of entering, a total of 11 sterilized allready.
Needing to be sterilized asap
19 adult females
25 adolescent boys
Are NOW ready for steri.
A female costs us R900 and male costs R600 per bunny. Many of rhe older ladies have dental issues that is currently being treated, while many of the younger bunnies have inbreeding issues.
We really need your help to care for them.
A next campaign will be held for the 11 girl babies who are not yet old enough for steri.
