Stephen Martin Voluntering in Tanzania

I am a first year undergraduate at the University of Brighton, Studying International Hospitality Management. 

I have always been interested in charity volunteering work, and having watched the likes of Comic Relief, it has spurred me on even more to try and help make a difference, if only little. This opportunity is something which i have wanted to do for a long time. Whilst being at university and funds are tight, I feel this opportunity is too good to miss, to develop myself personally along with many skills I gain before going into future employment. Whilst obviously giving my assistance in a poverty hit country.

My proposed opportunity is to go to Zanzibar, Tanzania in June 2014 with a volunteer organisation called 'African Impact'. African Impact are the largest on the ground facilator of responsible volunteer projects throughout Africa.(http://www.africanimpact.com)

I am to raise £2,500 from online and offline donations. I will be putting alot of my own money into this project aswell. Your donations will pay towards projects costs which are put back into the project for building materials, essential equipment, supplies for the community, schools and foodstuff. Also your donations will go towards, vehicles and developing new housing for volunteers so the project can expand. 

During my time in Zanzibar, I will be:

• Teaching English to Children, Teachers and Local Adults of the community
• Developing skills from the use of singing and dancing
• Developing Children's creative skills
• Creating and implementing developmental games
• General upkeep of the community and school, such as beach litter picks, planting trees, construction and repair work. 

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and will go towards a worthy cause!
