Stephanie’s Strive

On Friday, February 10, 2017, Stephanie went to the ER with pain she thought was her colon. After initial testing they found her white bood cell count through the roof.
She was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami later that night which is known for treating cancer in order to truly find out what was going on.
After a whole week of testing, the Doctor's diagnosed her with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia also known as ALL. ALL is a form of leukemia that resides in the blood and bone marrow which attacks healthy white blood cells.
Her case was different. So different that they decided to present it to the hospital council in order to treat it the best way possible since they only had one opportunity to decide.
After deliberating, their method of treatment includes chemo treatments and a bone marrow transplant along with stem cells. While receiving treatment she must also live at the hospital in order to keep her comfortable and keep a clean environment near her at all times and to treat any situation that may arise.
Although she is responding well to treatment and we hope and know she will recover fully God willing, the medical bills are adding up quickly.
We are starting this fundrasier and asking for financial help in order to help aliviate that burden and pay for the bone marrow transplant that she needs to continue her life and will prevent the cancer from coming back again. We pray that Stephanie can get the treatment she needs, so once she is out of the hospital she can live as any other 27 year old girl would.
Stephanie moved to the US from Venezuela in 2015 with hopes and dreams. She is a psychologist and was an avid volunteer at the Children's Hospital in Maracaibo with cancer patients. Always willing to help her family, friends and others who needed her.
We are strong believers that she will strive to beat this cancer along with God's helping hand. Anything helps and we will be eternally greatful.
