After experiencing back pain, I was diagnosed in March of 2012 with Bone Cancer - Multiple Myeloma. It is a rare cancer affecting less than 1% of cancer patients in the US.
They say you get it by being exposed to hazardous chemicals - and I did work with paints, auto supply and industrial chemicals earlier in my life. I also worked in the Aerospace Manufacturing business for several years. In those days, I don't think they placed a great deal of emphasis on the risks of using these materials.
Anyway, as part of my cancer treatment I need to get a Stem-Cell transplant ASAP at the City of Hope in Duarte, CA. I will be hospitalized for over 3 weeks and the procedure will cost over $120,000. Fortunately Kaiser will cover most of that cost, however, I still need about 10% or $12,000 to cover the deductible and items not covered by my insurance. As of this writing, I do not have the money to cover this expense.
This transplant can literally save my life from bone cancer and it is something that I must find a way to do. I can't wait long because it is less likely to be successful for me if I wait.
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider helping me. :-)
