I was an armored guard, with plans to be a police officer until I became a convicted felon for having my legally owned service weapon in my glove box, Now my dreams of being a cop and providing for my family have been dashed. The only way I can get my life back on track is if you donate to help save my life, This fund is to help appeal my sentence so I can become a free man. Please help.My name is Steffon Josey-Davis. I am a 24-year-old from New Jersey. As an armored car driver, I am legally permitted to own a weapon.  On September 20th, 2013,  I was planning to go to the gun range with a friend, and was in the garage checking my firearm when my 6-year-old sister walked in and surprised me. I have always tried to keep my firearm away from my younger siblings as to not spark their curiosity, so I quickly shoved it into my glove compartment before picking her up and taking her back inside the house.Later that day, having been distracted by a chain of events, I got in my car, with my gun still in my glove compartment.  I was pulled over shortly after for a routine traffic stop. Immediately I realized my mistake; in NJ a loaded weapon must be carried in a locked trunk. I alerted the officers that I had a weapon in the car. They confiscated and told me I would be able to pick it up later that week, and I thought that was the end of it. As a Armed service company who transported U.S & foreign currency to banks and service ATM's. One Morning of September 20th 2013 I hid my firearm from my younger sister as I was in my garage. I quickly placed my weapon in my glove box to avoid any danger to my sister. She is a young girl and I feel strongly for children saftey, I did what ever I could in my power to prevent her from seeing my weapon. When I left out of the house that morning I was later pulled over in my vehicle. During my traffic stop, I notified the officers who I was, Who I worked for and I had my Legally owned fire arm in my glove box. They took my fire arm let me go, When I went to claim my fire arm from the police department they arrested me and charged me with unlawful possession of a fire arm that I legally owned. I was facing 10 years in prison for a simple mistake. I am now a convicted felon taking a plea deal of probation due to the fact I was scared of going to prison for up to 10 years with serving 5 years before being released from state prison. I was in the process of becoming a police officer to protect my community and make my famiy proud. My Dreams are now thrown away because of a mistake. Hiding a weapon from a child and caring for a childs welfare cost me my freedom. This fund is to help overturn my wrongful conviction. I am now a Felon and with your help I can become a free man once again. This fund was made to give me the opportunity to hire Evan Nappen, The best Fire arms attorny in new jersey. During the time of my arrest there was a NEW JERSEY Amnesty period. That means anyone subjected to unlawful possession of a weapon charge should'nt have been prosecuted. I was wrongfully convicted and with your help a donation can change my life and bring justice to my case. I lost everything due to the circumstances of this case. This appeal will give me my freedom and my life back. Please help-Thank You
