Steam Cell Transplant for 8-year-old child affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Adam is an Algerian 8 year-old child affected by a rare form of Duchenne muscular Dystrophy, a degenerating muscular disease for which there is no cure and that involves a progressive lost of the usage of legs and arms. In the past people affected by this disease had a life expectancy of about 12 years old, nowadays, thanks to new experimental treatments, they can live more than 20 years.

In Europe, there are some experimental treatments that, however, are precluded to Adam because they are available only for European citizens.

In China, The Beijing Puhua International Hospital uses a steam cell transplant followed by a period of rehabilitation, from 4 to 6 months long, that improves the general health condiitons and quality of life and stop the progression of the disease.

After evaluation od the medical report of Adam, the Beijing Puhua International Hospital has confirmed the eligibility of the child to be submitted to the steam cell transplant.

The cost estimate for the trasplant and the four months of cure and rehabilitation amounts to approximately 45,000€.

The family doesn't have the means to pay the fees, this is why we decided to fund-raise to help them. Any contribution as little as it may be will be extremely important to Adam.

Glad to receive your reply!

After 3 weeks treatment at our hospital the patient also need to continue rehabilitation training and take medicines.

We can observe the patient's condition after 6 months, if need, you can come back for the second course of treatment .

About the payment , you can find the payment instruction in the attachment. Of course you can pay a deposit before leaving from Algeria and pay the rest at your arrival in Beijing.

We can also send you the invitation letter for applying visa, please send me your scan copy of passports, I will do it for you soon.

Our room can live in 1 patient with 1-2 companies, you don’t need to find a hotel outside.

And the rehabilitation after discharge is ¥20,000RMB every month for outpatient treatment. For inpatient treatment our accommodation fee is expensive, 3 months I suggest you live in hotel nearby our hospital.
