I could never repay the love and support I have received from this family, but I can try.
I have known my best friend and her family for 13 years, and was always welcomed and accepted into their family no matter what I had done. They were a second home, a second family, and I cherish them as much as my own.
Scott Ferguson was an amazing man, a great father, great husband, and a fun loving person to be around. He was taken away way too soon and I am heartbroken for his family. I remember him taking Virginia and I for snacks when we had sleepovers, out for drinks when we first turned 18 together. Dancing to the music at the local pub and making us laugh. He would drive me to work at 7:00 a.m. after a night of partying, and every time he would stop and pick up food for me to make sure I wouldn't go hungry and hungover when I walked in. When I first got accepted into college, they celebrated with me and were as proud as my own parents were. Every birthday dinner they had I was invited to, letting me celebrate with them as if I was their own daughter, and often brought gifts and treats for me and my own family. They picked up school supplies for me when I first moved out, because they knew I was struggling and never asked for anything in return.
They are so kind, and deserve so much more than this pain and I hope that this message reaches someone, anyone, who would be willing to help me help them.
