Starving family in Venezuela

Imagine living in a country where the electric power tends to go out all the time, randomly and sometimes for weeks!! Medicines are not available! Baby formula cannot be found in stores because all of them get robbed and the shelves are empty! (They even steal the AC and refrigerator from the stores.) There are no jobs and if you are lucky to have a ”good” job (which only 1 of my cousins has, a government job) the monthly salary is $20 which is enough to barely feed the family for one week. A whole chicken costs about $3 so just do the math. My family is STARVING and it breaks my heart to hear that they are going through this in the country where I spent my childhood in! Some of the family members were able to get out and moved to Colombia and other countries. They are still struggling but at least not starving because food can be found in stores..But there are about 20 people from my family left behind and need our help to get out! (There are actually more left behind but only 20 are able to leave, others are too old or have family to attend to.) The ticket to get to Colombia is about $60 per person but once they are there, what do they do?! Colombia is full of Venezuelans and jobs are scarce. So I figured if I can set them up in a big house or 2 apartments with 2 months paid rent, then that will give them enough time to set up a business or find a way to do something to produce money. The rent is about $600 a month per apartment so in order to cover their rent for 2 months, we will need about $2400. Also, we are estimating about $500 will be needed for food for those 2 months.

I am setting a goal of $10,000 with hopes that I can help them with setting up a business and to also help those that already left but are struggling. Money is also needed in order to make my family legal in Colombia. My father and I are the only ones that made it to the US, and I’ve always thought that my mission is to help my family someday get out of Venezuela. The time is now! The longer they stay, the more likely a tragedy can happen (God forbid). I already had 2 uncles pass away because there were no medicines in the hospital to treat them. The hospitals are not safe or sanitary at all!!!

Please help me with this mission. Please help me save my family.
