Adolescent girls are often denied the choices, opportunities and life-saving information and services needed to prevent early or unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, dating violence, and sexual assaults, which can lead to long-lasting mental health issues. Socio-economic factors including poverty, gender-based violence, sexual exploitation, and exclusion from decision-making processes increase susceptibility and exposure to mental health risks among adolescent girls and limit their ability to seek, access and use mental health and psychosocial services. Knowing that there is a lack of support and services in the community, Mbuya Psychosocial Center is driven to make a change! Our vision is to help each girl reach their highest potential and become self-sufficient adults, equipped with the capacity to continuously evolve in all aspects of their lives. Providing a safe space for girls to become literate and develop basic skills, vocational skills, and health care knowledge, while having access to friends, counselors, and mentors.
With your kind donation, we will be able to support more girls, hire and train additional staff, and purchase all necessary materials and equipment's needed to help our girls thrive!
Thank you for your consideration in supporting this initiative in helping young girls in Uganda. Please remember every dollar counts, and ALL donations are greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Sheena Luti Musisi
