Creative online business start up

As a mother of two daughters I understand that there are basic monthly needs and the cost to purchase. There are girls getting their periods during their years in primary school and it can be a very difficult time for them to understand that this is happening and have the confidence to ask if they need supplies. Single parent incomes can also be very challenging. Rents in Auckland consume over half of your wages leaving you to juggle the money left over to pay for everything else. This can affect the basic needs that girls require. I understand this all too well and therefore this project holds a special place in my heart.

I want to start my own handmade interior products of quilts and candles to sell in store as well as in an online selling platform. In return I would like to donate $15 of every product sold to buy sanitary products for a girl in need of this. I want to start with one primary (elementary) school and donate as much sanitary products as I can to help with the girls in need. This will range from providing sanitary products, feminine soap, emergency spare underwear and a small pouch to take to school so that they are confident going to the bathroom without anyone noticing that they need to go to change. This will be an ongoing project as I want to supply as many schools as possible.

The money that I am wanting to raise will go towards purchasing the materials to create the products, creating the online store, the printing and purchasing of labels and cards to put on the products about my period poverty project as well as marketing these products with the my end of period poverty project at gift fairs.
