The dream of starting a Christian Broadcast Radio station started twenty five years ago. I was a pastor and the local Christian College had a radio station that reached for a fifty mile radius. It was located right outside New York City and therefore had an audience of over ten million people. But the station was neglected by the college and used for silly programs of crickets chirping and grass rustling. When the college reached twenty five million dollars of debt it closed and so did the station. At the time, a good friend of mine attempted to buy the station, but he was refused. Odd?!? Yes Indeed. I have been praying for these many years and suddenly a friend called and said the Federal Communications Commision was allowing new stations. It was the first time in thirteen years. As a member of a local community group in Kentucky, we applied and were granted a Construction Permit. We have the permission, we have a place on a local radio tower, we now need the broadcast transmitter and studio equipment. All of this must be accomplished by April 2016. But we need to have financial help now because the process of tower and studio setup is time consuming. All funds raised with go for equipment. Once operational, WKRI -LP FM will be able to sustain itself. Although not allowed to advertise, the station will get support from the local community. A special vision of the station is to engage the culture by clearly holding Christian values. It will also be a very strong supporter of local Churches, religious institutions and ministries.
