Campaign Story
Duncan works at Fiwagoh Orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya, his hometown. Due to divorce and a poor financial situation, his parents were not able to raise him. He is living in poverty, with just enough money and food to survive from one day to the next.
As we were considering possible job opportunities for Duncan, we came up with a plan. As the saying goes: “don’t give the man a fish, but teach him to fish instead”. Duncan has the potential to earn a steady income to eliminate his financial problems. Since tourism in Kenya is thriving, being a tourist-van driver and guide in national parks can earn a substantial income relative to the local economy.
So, the target is to raise some funds to help Duncan buy himself a tourist-van to engage in tourism-related activities. If we manage this, he will be able to rise from the cruelness of poverty.
