STARBUTTS SALONS II

Starbutts was created by Cindy who was a tenacious English professor from Valencia College,Cindy died a mysterious death and Starbutts was left without an owner. When Micheal her husband needed help operating Starbutts Salons he ask me her best friend to help, so I did. I fell in love with the tanning business and their customers,furthermore, when the opportunity came to buy the salon I did through the grace of God.This was not something that was in my plans at the time, because I was a student taking classes in Anthropology.The shop was in a great location, however when the hub store left all the foot traffic went with it.

Needless to say I went to a new location across the street to a stand alone building, with unforeseen major maintenance problems. One major problem was an electrical fire from the city electrical line to our building. Which I was told by an employee of the electricl company, it was antiquated and should have been replaced years ago. The landlord and the city did not want to take responsibility of the electrical fire, which left me with no choice but to eat all the responsibility, far as permitting cost and the cost of an electrician; Furthermore, Starbutts clientele had to wait almost two months to tan which hurt our business drastically.

During this time my mom was living in my home and under my cared for the last eight years of her life. My mom Henrine Williams, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage four, she died 4 days from her first chemo treatment. She was doing great holistically, the chemo she was talked into by the doctors shut her weak body down. Needless to say I was devastated.I had to make a hard decision eight months later and redirect my salon. During this period we were made an offer to move to another shopping center near my home that will have a new hub store in October of this year, I have learned through the three years I have had the shop from my mistakes, since no one was there to teach me the tanning industry or even what it takes to own a business out side of my home. I must say I have learned a lot.

My life is surrounded by a holistic community and environment, I always wanted to have a holistic shop and I plan to take classes in Holistic Medicine, I feel combining the two would be awesome and profitable considering we have launched my husband's holistic lotion called (NUTRITIONAL LOTION) on Amazon and Ebay and we are working on major Holistic and grocery chains as well. but all of this takes time,our goal is to create a positive environment and jobs within our community.Why am I asking for help ? because this venture will take more financial help than we have and we have a short time to make this awesome move, your support is greatly appreciated. Anything that can happen will.
