We are now 3 years post stroke. He has gained alot back but, still has far to go. Since the stroke, my Mother has battled the insurance companies the whole way to facilitate things that my father would need that are essential to his recovery. We have been buying things second-hand & paying out of pocket for everything. The longer these things take, the more difficult the recovery process becomes. A standing frame is a piece of rehab equipment that aids a patient in supporting their own weight. This helps their knees begin to lock again and eventually stand on their own. My Father was prescribed a standing machine but, we have not received one and we are going on a year. I am frustrated beyond belief with our healthcare system. My Father has worked hard his whole life and has been a model of a human being. I want to encourage him and show him that anything is possible and that we will not quit fighting for him.
