In November 2014 a spontaneous community protest in the Jobstown area of Tallaght delayed Joan Burtons car for 2 1/2 hours.

For three days Joan Burton has sat in the Criminal Courts of Justice, attempting to paint a picture of a violent, out of control mob, not motivated by water charges, Labours betrayal, one parent family payment cuts and rising inequality - but there to personally assault and insult her.

The actual evidence presented so far shows an angry, legitimate protest. Angry after years of attacks from the Fine Gael - Labour Government she helped lead, and determined to have their voices heard by a government minister in their community for a photo opportunity.

The recordings from inside the car actually show a fairly tranquil environment, those 'falsely imprisoned' laughing and mocking protesters. Even describing protesters as the "the fucking dregs", as they were slow marched out of the area, surrounded by 120 gardai.

The Jobstown defendants all face extremely serious charges of false imprisonment and violent disorder and if convicted, could spend years behind bars. Families would be left in very difficult situations, with jobs lost and parents in prison. If Paul Murphy TD is sent to prison for 6 months or more, he will be kicked out of the Dail, overturning the democratic decision of the people of Dublin South-West.

There is no question that Joan Burton, the DPP and the 50 or more Gardai who may be called to testify, are hoping the protesters will be convicted and sent to prison.

We need your help to fight this injustice. The mainstream media have refused to publish anything from the #JobstownNotGuilty campaign for months - and have systematically published one-sided testimony, rather than a balanced review of court proceedings, since the trial began.

The first adult trial - of 7 defendants - will continue for another 4 weeks at least. Please donate and help the campaign publish the truth of whats said in the courtroom. Help us print public information leaflets, 100's of posters and spread the new video evidence on social media.

At the same time, donations will go towards supporting defendants and their families, some of whom are without any wage while the trial is ongoing.

Thank you
