Solidarity Call for my SRS-HRT Process and Housing Conditions

As a Kurdish, trans, lesbian, vegan poet/artist, I desire a life without exploitation for all living beings; and I convey this call for solidarity to be able to solve my homelessness problem which hinders my life, and to be able to attain my rights of safe housing and healthcare. This situation is urgent, and it makes my life very difficult in many different ways. Both for the continuation of my HRT and SRS transition process, and for me to be able to overcome my serious health problems, this solidarity is vitally important and necessary. I am unable to find a legal/secure job because of my trans identity, and I cannot access safe housing conditions because of financial insufficiency. The conditions of life are already tough for a trans existence, and with these additional factors, it becomes really difficult for me to survive. Especially in the HRT process, this burden gets heavier for me, both materially and spiritually. Solidarity always makes us stronger in many ways; and I get my strength from those people who stand with me, who show solidarity, who do not abandon me in this grim time.

I thank, in advance, to everyone who wants to support me for their help, solidarity, and good wishes. My goal is to solve my housing problem, to continue my HRT process, and to overcome the financial barriers that prevent me to access healthcare, using the amount donated. Unfortunately, I do not have a secure/permanent place to live right now; so, I hope to be able to move into a home and pay basic housing expenses with your help. After I overcome these problems with your solidarity and readapt to my daily life, I’ll be able to continue my work such as organizing free queer tango workshops for queer subjects, writing poems and stories, developing projects for trans activism, participating in animal rights and feminist struggle, even stronger than before.

I am a nomad, 31 years old, vegan, trans lesbian existence living in İstanbul; whose main concerns are gender, queer art, queer theory, queer literature, feminism/transfeminism, and poetry. Before the pandemic, I organized many queer tango workshops in different contexts, and I participated in various interviews. I am also closely interested in queer literature, queer art, and queer theory; and I try to create works in these fields. I write poems that thematize nonnormative desire. Last year I gave poetry performances in some events (organized by Kıraathane İstanbul Literature House, Yapı Kredi Culture and Arts Gallery) as well as in the streets of Cihangir, in Pride 2022 demonstrations. Right now, I am in the process of working for a poetry book.
