Hello everyone!! My name is Kajol and right now I am trying to raise enough money to help out the elephants of Sri Lanka!
Elephants play a big role in Sri Lankan culture and have been around for thousands of years, the elephants I am going to be working with are retired elephants and have become surplus requirements for their owners. The programme I am going to work for will allow me to help the owners take care of these elephants and give them the love and affection that they need. Also project fees that I am fundraising for are going to be used to fund the care of the elephants.
In Sri Lanka i am going to be feeding the elephants and going with the other volounteers to help gather the elephants food in a nearby forest and store it. I will be helping walk and clean the elephants but I will also be learning about their temperaments and behaviour.
Tsunami Village Education
To show my appreciation I will be putting up pictures of my journey so you can all see my jouney. Also another project i am looking forward to helping in, when I go to Sri Lanka one of the things i can do in my free time is help out at the Tsunami Village Education project which is an after school -education for the chidren in the communities displaced by the Tsunami; also I will be able to have the chance at helping out at one of the orphange placements as well.
Honestly it would mean the world to me if you helped me in my journey to achieve all of this and I myself will try to raise as much money as possible whether it be through cake sales or car boot sales or whatever it takes!!
