On the 11th of July 2015 I will be flying out to Sri Lanka to volunteer in an orphanage for 2 weeks some of the time will be spent in the nearby school helping to teach the children English,  as well as helping to fund some of the trip I would like to raise money to spend on the orphanage itself to provide things like food and educational supplies. The orphanages are located in Ambalangoda which is a quaint oceanside town located on the South West coast of Sri Lanka, Ambalangoda has previously been torn apart by tsunami that leaves an everlasting impact on the town and it's residents. i will be participating in this project through plan my gap year (PMGY), At present they support three orphanages. SUNFO Child Development Centre funded by the Sri Lanka United Nation Friendship Organisation. There are 18 girls at the home, aged between 5 to 14 years of age. PMGY volunteers also support Halpethota Children’s Orphanage, which cares for 80 boys and girls aged between 6 to 18 years of age. These are the main orphanages we support. they also place volunteers at a boy’s orphanage that is run by a Buddhist monk. There are 20 boys at the home aged from 5 to 18 years of age  Every penny helps and will help me along my way to an amazing adventure helping to change the life of others.
