The Story

Hello friends,

We are a group of people (biologists, environmentalists, scientists and friends) who are worried about what happens to our environment and how the food industry has irresponsibly used every resources we have. We are creating a permaculture farm named Sprout Utopia where we are working to recover the ancient forests of endemic species while at the same time with food crops (tomatoes, potatoes, onions, corn, etc.). Our goal is to recover the species that existed in those original forests and transform the farm into a sustainable forest, supplying food for the people working on the farm, people in the community where the farm is located and therefore people in general. We work with insects, fungi and all types of natural organisms which belong to the environment and are useful for the permaculture operation. We want to work friendly with the environment providing air to the environment, restoration of plant species and native animals, and insects, many of which are in danger of extinction. Like bees and pollinating insects. We also work to have a continuous system of water collection as a cheaper and easier source to obtain water. We are creating a design to collect byproducts of the Californian earthworms and using a Solar Cell System to provide sustainable energy to the entire project. All of this research is done in the same environment where we have and are developing the farm, but the resources needed to create this kind of farm are not all available to us. The idea is to create a very simple Super farm to care for and work on. We can apply this system anywhere in the world using the same principle and thus fade out the antiquated system of monoculture that is destroying the planet and its species.

The resources received will be used for the collection of endemic species that can only be done in the field and we are in need of materials and tools for the proper management of this process. The materials received will also be used for each of the prototypes used in the farm as water collection systems, Solar Cell System, protection and reproduction system of insects, fungi and plant and animal species. In order to test each of these systems, we need time and the requested resources to add to the committed staff we already have in order to make this project happen.

Our aim is to help create a better future for our society, but knowledge alone cannot accomplish this. We are currently seeking financial support for these projects.

Each person who wants support us can monitor our progress, and if they wish to implement it for themselves, our team will gladly provide you with all the necessary information free of charge. We can even send a team member to your site to develop the project there. We plan to operate here in Ecuador´s 3 regions – the coast, the Andes, and the Amazonas. Everyone is invited to be part of this project that has the power to better our one shared planet, as we believe knowledge should be equal for all.
