Spreading the knowledge of how to protect your online identity

Not too long ago I decided to join Instagram. I will be honest and will say that up to that moment I didn't really find a meaning of joining another "social" platform. Of course, after checking it out and discussing it with friends, I decided to check it out. So I registered, started uploading pictures, felt the "positive vibe" of seeing beautiful creatures, pictures, photos, videos - everything that makes this platform interesting and useful.

Like most people I like to go out - to have fun with my friends, having drinks, meals or just ice-cream. And most people do it so they can relax and take their mind of the serious things. This is the moment in which you are most vulnerable. This is the moment in which you have your guard down and which They are waiting for.

So everything was great until one day. The day I could not login into my account and the 10 minutes it took me to realize that it has been stolen.

I am sure that there are people out there with more serious situations and that have been hacked in a more destructive way. Sure it is just an Instagram account, but ask yourself that: What if this happens with my bank account information, my social security information, my private information?

It is the 21st century so it is impossible not to use modern technology, but we, all of us, we really have to be smart about it.

The idea here is to raise the awareness of the young in a simple way, with few rules and steps. We have to let them know that there are "flaws" in the system and how to avoid situations like mine or far worse.

Help me in gather the necessary funds for developing presentations, setting meetings and involving organizations. The starting point will be a simple presentation, which will be spread throughout schools first in my neighborhood in my city and continuously growing, if possible.

At the end I will say that I was somewhat smart and cautious when registering in Instagram. I did not use any of my important email addresses, I had a separate password for Instagram specifically and I did not have any personal information neither in my email inbox nor in my Instagram profile. So enjoy it hackers, the profile is useless.
