Campaign Story
Hello, my name is See Wee Han, 23 years old. I am from Malaysia. I am a Degree student of Biological Sciences field and will be graduating by this October 2017. My 2 close colleagues and I have had the privilege and have accepted the offer to undergo our industrial training (Internship) at Swansea University, Singleton Park Campus, Wales, United Kingdom for a duration of 3 months for this coming June 2017 - September 2017. This offer is indeed an golden opportunity for me to further enhance my knowledge in the field of “animal cell culture” biotechnology and research on human cancer cells. My top focus comes in the field of breast cancer since cancer is the second most leading caused of death in the world and Swansea University are seen to be the best option as it is equipped with biotechnology facilities that are top notch besides obtaining a recognition as “UK TOP 30 FOR RESEARCH EXCELLENCE” by REF, 2014.
Furthermore, by undergoing my internship at Swansea, will open up possibilities for me to further my masters degree with the help of scholarships from the University of Swansea. However, despite the privilege given, the main obstacle for us to perform our industrial training there is that of financial issues, since this is an unpaid internship, where also the budget for our 3 month stay is quite large (This is because I am Malaysian so convert Ringgit Malaysia(RM) to (pounds) is around RM5.60 = 1 pounds. In relation to this fact, I kindly ask for kind contribution if possible. So far we have collected RM11,040 which covers our flight ticket and train ticket, so we need another RM30,600 which equals to RM30,600= 5,464 pounds.
However I am asking for 3,000 pounds instead of 5,464 pounds because I am trying to get some sponsorship from other company(so far still waiting for their reply).
