Sponsorship of Sandesh

In September, 2012 I saw a precious boy on the Compassion International website. His name was Sandesh and he lives in India. I felt an instant connection with him and really felt like I was meant to sponsor him. Though, I already had several sponsored children and I knew there wasn't any money for me to sponsor him. I prayed that he would find the right sponsored and I closed the website. A week later, I still had not stopped thinking of him. I looked at his picture everyday and prayed everyday that he would find a sponsor. I talked to my friend about him and she offered to pay his first month of sponsorship. She encouraged me to reach out to the online sponsorship community to see if anybody else would be willing to help out. In the span of just one day, I had raised enough money to sponsor Sandesh for 8 months. Wow! 

Since then, through generous donations through my blog, I have his sponsorship covered through August. That means, that for an entire year, Sandesh has been sponsored completely by generous readers of my blog and by wonderful members of the Our Compassion community. I would love to keep Sandesh as a co-sponsorship through my blog. My goal is raise enough money to cover Sandesh's sponorship until the end of this year. That's only four more months of sponsorship! 

I don't want to make it sound like I am not willing to pay for this beautiful little boy on my own, because I absolutely am. However, I think that God is showing me and other people exactly what can be done when a group of people come together as one. I believe that us helping Sandesh is exactly how the Body of Christ should act together.
