So this year myself and three friends are running not one, not two, not three but four 10K Wolfruns. These 10K mud infested, killer, obstacle courses are spaced throughout the year and are often freezing cold and pure madness!
But this is to raise money for something we believe in - the rescue and rehoming of helpless starving dogs and cats from the streets in Spain. These poor little mites have been cruelly abandoned, usually at a tender young age (often a litter in a bag in a bin!), or when they've gotten too costly to keep (case and point - a dog named Bob who was an estimated 16 years old when found - blind, deaf, starving, with no teeth and almost completely bald!).
We have paid the registration fees ourselves, so every penny will be going towards helping save these poor waifs and strays!
All of us have rehomed dogs or know someone who has rehomed one of these poor rescues and we frequently look into the eyes of our new family members and remember where they came from and the hardship they had to endure before they came to us. Every time it's heart wrenching, and every time we're reminded about all the animals that are still on the streets, suffering, desperately needing another chance.
And this is why we're doing it, why we're running a gruelling 10k obstacle course, (two of us with broken bones!) - to raise money towards the care of animals in need which are cared for by CHANCE Animal Rescue - a small charitable group which (entirely voluntarily) work hard everyday to take care of animals in need.
Please give whatever you can, every penny counts!
