Since I started studying Ecology, my passion has grown immensely and the more I learn the more I want to get active and do my part in helping the conservation of the most endangered animals.
There is a reserve in South Africa which is doing amazing things in helping animals such as lions, elephants, rhinos and leopards to be safe and to make sure the habitats for these endangered animals are a suitable environment for them to not just survive but thrive!
I have had a long term goal to be able to get over there and give a helping hand as the reserve is run voluntarily and funding is scarce. My aim is to spend a month with the team helping them monitor and care for the land. One of the biggest issues out there is poaching and the best way in tackling this problem is prevention by educating the local children all about why the wildlife is so important. I will have the opportunity to teach in a local school where staffing is minimal and where the education is extremely important for the children's future.
To be able to afford this trip I need £2000 which will cover the cost of everything. Not only would this trip be an immense support for the wildlife over there, but it will also be an amazing learning experience for myself. I have dreamed about volunteering in such an amazing place for so many years but have never been able to afford it. So I now think its about time I just went for it by recklessly begging for the funds to do so :P
Thank you in advance for even just having a read and showing interest. Any support I get will be appreciated so much as each individual will be part of the reason for me getting that much closer to accomplishing this long awaited dream!
