Message from Daithi Mac Giolla Mhaoil
AS a teacher Daithi is outraged at the conditions students in refugee camps must endure in order to study or read. No child should die in a fire tying to read a school book. No child should be forced to risk their lives using a lit candle to read, study, do homework, or to light their room because they fear the dark.. Sadly children are dying in fires too many times. In the month of January there were 85 house fires and several deaths! Together we can help stop this and save lives, one light at a time.
In keeping his promise to come back to Ireland and do something for the people he visited, Daithi will be running the BELFAST MARATHON for Irish Friends of Palestine LIGHT GAZA Campaign (www.lightgaza.org) Daithi is seeking sponsors for any amount. A personal message from Daith below:
A cairde, I will be running the Belfast Marathon in aid of IFOP Light Gaza Campaign. This will be to raise awareness of the Palestinian cause and the continuing injustices the Palestinian people suffer at the hands of the Israelis. Any money raised will go towards the Lights Campaign.
Go raibh maith agaibh FREE PALESTINE!

Adh mr a chara, proud of you for all the support you are giving to Palestine. But have to say running a marathon is easier then jumping out of a plane!!

I sincerely hope you reach your target it's such a worthy cause, we take the simple things for granted so much. You would expect injuries and deaths from using candles only to be on the pages of history books. Good luck to you and long live Palestine.
