A Christmas Wish

The holidays are here and it’s time to spread good cheer and love with our loved ones, neighbors, and friends. Anointed Community Academy is striving to bring the Christmas spirit to the less fortunate kids that study at our school.

Here in Matunda where we operate, things are a little different from what you may be used to. In other parts of the world, kids love the holidays and look forward to being with their parents and playing. In Matunda, the holidays can be quite difficult for the kids. Since majority of them come from homes that earn less than USD1 a day, the holidays are not really a fun time.

Most children come from homes that struggle to meet their basic needs such as food. At least during the school days, they are sure of getting lunch through our school program.

Moreover, their daily lives are characterized by two things: work and play.

The young ones are usually out on the fields playing in the dirty with no shoes. This puts them at risk of getting infested with various disease such as jigger infections. For the kids that are a little older, majority of the day is spent on their small pieces of squatter land digging or doing household chores. At least during the school days, they are sure of getting lunch through our school program.

Give with Love. Make a Difference

This Christmas season, Anointed Community Academy seeks to do something different. We want to give the children of Matunda a Christmas gift that will improve their lives and let them know someone somewhere cares for them. This is why we are inviting you to participate in this act of love.

We are holding a series of events meant to raise funds to give the disadvantages children on Matunda a well-deserved Christmas. The events are meant to raise funds and donations for essential items that the kids will need for growth.

We are inviting you to support us with any of the following donations:

• Shoes (especially for children aged 1 year to 10 years)
• Children Books (text books, story books, etc.)
• Clothes (for children aged 1 year to 10 years)
• School backpacks
• Christmas monetary donation

We are targeting to raise $5000 this Christmas season. Please share this campaign with your friends to help us achieve our goals.

Partner With Us – Build a Community

Christmas is a great time to share the love of Christ with the less fortunate. However, you can only do so much during the Christmas season. When the New Year sets in, a whole new set of challenges await the vulnerable community of Matunda. You can help shave the destiny of this community through a selfless act of love by partnering with us in different ways.

We are looking for partners that can help us achieve short and medium-term goals that will transform the Matunda community. Here are two main ways in which you can help:

Sponsor a Child

Be part of the people molding and raising a vulnerable child from wherever you are. Sponsor a child’s education for a whole year.

The tuition cost, including meals at school for a single child per year is $500. With your one-time or recurring donation of any amount, you can play a role in ensuring that one of the children in the community get an education.

Sponsorship Perks

As a child sponsor, you will get regular communication from our team regarding the progress of the child. You will also have a chance to communicate with the child through personal letters, get their photographs and learn more about them on an individual level.

Sponsor a Classroom

You or your organization can also play a role in ensuring the children of Matunda get a decent education by contributing to the building of facilities that we need for the school.

In particular, we are looking for sponsors to help us build more classrooms, a library and toilet facilities. This project is suitable for organizations, clubs, churches and businesses that would like to give back to the community.
