Hello, we are The Young KL Singers (YKLS), a community choir that has been established in Malaysia since 2002. Our members are made up of people from various walks of life and day jobs, brought together by our passion for music. We believe in being creative, innovative and pushing the boundaries of choir traditions.

We also believe in giving back to society. That is why it is YKLS' tradition to dedicate 1 performance in each year's production for the underprivileged and members of non-profit organizations to enjoy a well-deserved afternoon of music and performing arts, which they would normally not enjoy as part of their daily routine.

This year we will be supporting the following charities and NGOs:

1. Women's Aid Organisation

2. Mon Refugee Organisation

3. Rohingya Intellectual Skills & Excellence

4. Malaysian Parkinson's Disease Association (MPDA)

Previous charitable organizations that have benefited from this initiative include the Malaysian Association of the Blind, Malaysian Parkinson’s Disease Association, Dignity for Children Foundation and many more.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Being an entirely self-funded choir, we depend entirely on ticket sales, donors and the YKLS members themselves, to underwrite the cost of staging our performances and the charity shows.

You can help us by:

1. Donating to support our charity show (minimum amount USD5), or

2. Buying 1x ticket for charity (USD12.55 each), or

3. Buy 1x ticket for charity + 1x ticket for yourself (USD23). The 1x ticket for yourself is listed as a Donation Reward.

4. Buy 10x tickets for charity + 1x private goodwill concert for you and your friends (USD2,500). The private goodwill concert is listed as a Donation Reward, terms & conditions apply.

About this performance - Aurora : A Tribute to Björk

In her 40 years in the music industry, Björk has defied genres and labels, blending an incredible range of musical styles into her work, ranging from electronic, pop, classical, and avant-garde. The Aurora tribute celebrates the diversity of Björk's music across the years.

In keeping with the spirit of her work, it will be creative, experimental and eclectic topped off with YKLS' signature quirkiness. The YKLS show choir, directed by Ian Chow, and Mak Chi Hoe (who is also the Music Director), will be the first choir in Malaysia to stage a production of this nature.

The members of YKLS have developed their own unique arrangements of Björk's music, experimenting with percussion, acapella, music processing and even choreography. Furthermore, this production will feature visual projection designs by the students of Saito University College, one of the most reputable design colleges in Malaysia.

Whether you are a fan of this visionary artist, or someone new to her music, Aurora promises a fresh, and innovative experience that will excite your senses.
