ABOUT US

Starting from a small group of friends, we see that socio-economic problems occures to the people who work in the informal sector very significant for their economic conditions, as a consequences of the adoption of the protocol to prevent the spread of covid-19 #StayAtHome which has paralysed all business activities, therefore many of them loss their livelihood to fulfil their daily needs. So we gathered some people where we could do something to contribute positively and significantly to respond this problem.

Therefore, since April 1, 2020, we formed SOLIDARITY PUBLIC KITCHEN - YOGYAKARTA to accommodates friends who have the same vision for being present among them to help their burden by distributing free meals and masks so that they feel that they are not alone, together we feel the same thing and work hand in hand to face the prolonged crisis caused of this co-19 pandemic.

At the moment we have more than 30 volunteers with 10 core management teams who have invested time, energy and thoughts, so that SPKYK (Solidarity Public Kitchen - Yogyakarta) will work better and more sustainable and trustworthy.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS AND BUSINESSES

In less than a month, we have raised more than 25 million Rupiah, more than 5,000 free meals and more than 700 masks and hand sanitisers we have distributed to beneficiaries.

The numbers above is still far from the number of needs in the field compared to the number of beneficiaries that are increasing every day, for that we request your participation to contribute to help their problem.

Beside getting cash funding and other donations from donors, we also make every effort to get extra funds from the sale of donations that we have launched on our social media;

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM

This program runs until end of July 2020, or until the government officially announced that socio-economy condition back to normal.

YOUR SUPPORT

With our current team capacity, we cook 100 packs of rice every day plus other operational costs, we need a minimum of US$ 100 every day.

Therefore, your support and contribution is highly expected so that we can remain present among beneficiaries until the socio-economic conditions recover.
