Spinal cord surgery for our 68 year old dad

Our family is in need of your prayers and kind hearts for our father, Danny James Occena who needs to undergo a spinal cord surgery next week, April 23 1PM.

Last Monday night, April 16, 2018, 2 days before his 68th Birthday,our father got into an accident when he was on his way home. He had fallen into the gutter near our house and was rushed to South General Hospital because he has blood all over and unable to move. He was placed into series of tests like Xray, BP, (blood pressure shoot up to 160), CT scan. A few hours of observation but he still he does not have strength in his arms and legs. Results showed no fracture in the head, arms or legs but revealed some abnormality in the neck area. We need to transfer him to Riverside Hospital (Dr Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital) since South Gen does not have complete facilities. There, additional test like MRI was conducted and it showed that there was a C5 contusion (compression) near his neck area and was recommended for surgery to decompress the spinal cord.

As the surgery is quite costly, we are raising funds for the major surgery and post therapy sessions for our 68 year old father. Months of Physical therapy will follow after his surgery to have his hands and feet rehabilitated as currently, he lost the strength to control his arms and legs. We will appreciate any monetary assistance you can help to help alleviate the expenses for the surgery.

About our father : Our dad is a jolly and funny old man who likes to be with his friends, read paper and books and likes to read and watch historical materials and loves to play bowling with his high school batch alumni. He is a widower with 3 daughters.
