At Socialpledge Foundation we focus our activities on helping
underprivileged families and their communities who rely on limited
resources and mostly live an unfulfilled lives.
This year SPF has taken on a project in the Agave-Afedome community located south of the Tongu district in the Volta region of Ghana. In assessing the water needs of the people in the community, it was found that the largest barrier to the health of the community people is lack of clean and safe drinking water and low sanitation and hygiene standards.
The entire people in the community rely solely on an untreated river water for all domestic purposes. Our research shows these common diseases among the people; diarrhea, Typhoid Fever, Eye Infection, Skin and/Scalp Infection, Schistosomiasis and Malaria.
Our goal is to raise funds to construct a borehole and install a water pump in order to provide the community with clean and safe sustainable supply of drinking water under holistic WASH (Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene) approach.
