Speech therapy for 4 year old

I am a mother of a four year old who has concentration problems and also needs speech therapy because he started speaking very late.

In December 2017, he started speech therapy once a week.

I was born and raised um Austrália but moved to Portugal a few years ago. Gerente industrial Portugal parents are able to apply for a special education pension that os paid directly to the institution giving therapy to a child.

I was not told I had to pay any fee to the institution, therefore I assumed the pension paid directly to them was covering the amount. Wrong!

I was only informed um march this year that I had to pay 25€ for the months December 2017 through to August 2018 (25€ x 9 months = 225€) and 65€ (he started having 2-3 sessions a week) for the months september 2018 through to march 2019 (65€ x 7 months= 455€). That's a total of 680€.

I explained that I was not at fault as I had not been informed that the pension was not covering the total monthly fee. They explained that social security only started layout them in october therefore they also didn't know. Of course social security wont take responsability.

The institution said I had to pay the amount or at least 450€ or my sons speech therapy would be suspended. I told them I am not able to pay that amount. I recently lost my job.

So they suspended my sons therapy! They will only start again once I pay at least 450€ of the 680€

I am worried this will set him back. He needs speech therapy. He starts kindergarden next year and as a parent I want him to be able to communicate with his peers.

Please help me help my son, please!

If you are able to help with even the smallest amount, I will be forever grateful.

I am willing to pay the money back once my financial situation is normal again.
