Specialist dressmaker needs help

Hi there. I’m a married mother of two who suffers from Myalgic Encephalopathy or “ME” (sometimes also called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or “CFS”). Having trained and been fully qualified from the London College of Fashion, two years ago I set up a business producing bespoke corsetry and dressmaking: a venture which I am very passionate about but has the added advantage of helping to work around my illness.

It hasn’t been easy – the workshop has been expensive to rent but it’s the smallest place I could get in the area that has sufficient space to lay out the various patterns and materials that I use in my work. The recession has made it doubly difficult as many see my clothing as luxury items. I’ve been very lucky in having a supportive husband who helps in the shop as well as bringing up our daughters whilst I am working.

I’ve been just about breaking even up until now however, I know that this can’t keep going forever. To really make a success of things I really need to start selling online. Because of the bespoke nature of my items, using a service such as eBay isn’t really possible since a bespoke corset requires over a dozen separate measurements to ensure it is a perfect fit. What I really need is a dedicated website. I don’t have the necessary web skills to set up such a system so I need to make use of a professional web designer to set it up for me.

I have worked so hard and taken risks to get to where I am and I'm doing really well considering I haven’t been trading that long, but things are now at a standstill and will decline if I can’t get this website up and running soon.

This is where gogetfunding comes in. To ensure my business succeeds I desperately need the funding to hire a graphics and web designer so I can sell online, receive online measurements and showcase styles I have made, materials I am using, sketches that may lead to that special item.
