Hi friends,

My name is Nadia Avila Espinoza, I am a Registered Nurse pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Nursing at San Diego State University.

I will be volunteering for 2 weeks and assisting people with special needs at Barcelona Spain over summer 2019 because my dream is to help people all over the World!!. As a Registered Nurse, this is the first time I will have the opportunity to make a difference in people's life in a foreign country and at the same time learn about their culture, traditions and customs. My main purpose is to assist people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities and at the same time become more culturally knowledgeable. Any cooperation will help me achieve my dream and to get to Spain safely.

I am excited to start making a difference in people's lives in a different continent and different part of the world!!!

Without your help it may not be possible. Anything will help me get to Spain.

Thank you everyone for your time,

To Whom It May Concern,

Beginning the 27th May 2019, Nadia Avila Espinoza will spend two weeks volunteering on the International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) Special Needs Support program in Barcelona, Spain. IVHQ is a New Zealand based NGO that provides safe, affordable volunteering opportunities abroad. The aim of this project is to help provide individualized care for people with disabilities, enabling them to be more integrated within their community and to live a less stigmatized life. The mainstream education system in Barcelona is not set up to receive people with certain disabilities. This means the centers that volunteers work in act as an essential alternative, providing many young individuals with mental and physical stimulation and an improved quality of life.

In order to participate on this program, Nadia has to pay fees of US$1259, which will cover her accommodation, meals, orientation, program placement, volunteer support services, and placement supervision and administration costs of the program. Furthermore, Nadia will have extra costs such as airfares to Barcelona, in-country travel and vaccinations. Finally, many volunteers also find their impact is even more profound if they take some fundraised/donated money to invest in projects being undertaken by the local NGOs and communities with whom they are working.

I have no doubt that from Nadia’s qualifications and skills she will make an excellent volunteer. Any assistance that you can provide her with will be really appreciated. If you wish to discuss this matter further or have any questions I am more than happy to help.

Regards

Jamie Reynolds
