Special needs home

mikayla house was started for mikayla who will be 30 in October 2019. Mikayla cannot survive or live alone due to autism. She is mostly non verbal and mentally cannot do much for herself or own her own. She will never be able to lead her own live. Due to her severity of autism and her obsessions and outbursts most school and homes have turned her away. She has needs care 24/7 .

This is our motivation and our passion to have our home grow with individual like these that are turned away because they cant fit in. To be safe and loved even though they have behaviours and obsessions. Most schools or home will accept a certain kind of individual that needs to fit in with their class or home, so what happens to those who Don't? Who need the extra time , extra attention? We want to be different, we know and feel the struggle. We and to help as many as possible.

We want to create a home with a difference, where no one is turned away due to mental illness or behaviours but instead help families struggling with special needs, weather it be autism, cerebal palsy, adhd, sensory processing. We want our home to invite everyone and all.

A place where they can make friends, free of judgements and thrive at their levels. A small group home that can become a forever home and this is our main dream to create a forever home. Where do these children and adults go when they are older?their parents are older, siblings are starting their own lives. This is why we need to make our home a forever home, where they can live and have their own space their own rooms and be at peace.

People and children with special needs struggle to make friends, to be social , here they can make friends and have a social group do art and crafts, bake and learn every day life skills that's much needed

Our passions goes far beyond a job. This is life and you can only keep what you have by giving it away.

It's costly to run and manage the home on a daily, as we supply all meals and if they adults or children live in we need to ensure that there is sufficient staff, rental paid, electricity, meals and nourishment and also stick the class room with education. Trips and outings where we mostly teach social skills and getting out in to a mall is huge for them, some have never seen a mall.

We ask that anyone and everyone that can assist us is making our home grow, so we can accomodate these children and adults and give them love , happiness and mostly peace. Anyone willing to open their hearts and create a beautiful home for all.
