Hello Everybody.
Regardless whether you wish to assist or
not, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones, peace,
love, joy and abundance in life, no matter where you may find yourselves.
We are a family of four from South Africa, who have recently moved to South East
Asia.
Driving and walking around the streets of Da Nang Vietnam, I have noticed there is a HUGE need for animal rescue services as well as education to locals about animals and the care of pets etc. I would like to get connected with some local animal lovers who can assist me in thinking of a strategy plan in educating locals in the proper care of pets.
Below and above are two dogs we found at a little food stall on the Hai Van mountain pass, they don't even have something soft under their paws in their cages, however I will admit, these dogs looked in a lot better condition than most dogs I've seen. I do believe they are well cared for and well fed, etc, but.....
I asked the owner if I may take them for a walk. She didn't completely understand me, but understood enough to open the cages and let them run around.....and man.......were they happy to be out and running around. They were bouncing around everywhere! Going crazy and jumping up and down on us and gave us so much love. My heart was happy for them, even if it were just for the 30 minutes we spent there with them. They also had no soft blanket or anything soft beneath their poor paws in these cages. It most certainly can not be very comfortable.
Seeing pets kicked and slapped around or hit with shoes/sticks, or even locked in cages, tied to poles by chains, is VERY common practice here. If you go near a dog on the street, they run away, petrified of humans. Because all they've ever known is harm from humans. It breaks my heart to see these animals like this. I secretly wish to go steal those animals at night and take them out those situations, but I know this is not the answer, nor do I unfortunately have the space right now to keep these animals. There has to be a better way. Yes some people won't want to hear us out, but somehow and somewhere along the way, I just KNOW we will start getting through to them. Saving one animal, won't change the world, but you can change the world of that one animal. And hopefully we can do it one animal at a time.....
These babies deserve better than this........
And although it's very hush, hush, dog and cat meat trade here is a reality and it's brutal. If you are sensitive....never ever google the phrase Dog Meat Industry in Vietnam
There are so many travellers going in and out of here, pets get abandoned all the time or rehomed in non suitable local homes. Or you know, the usual, kids get bored when dogs are no longer puppies and then the novelty has now worn off, they get neglected and eventually abandoned or sold to a dog meat trader. When will people understand that animals are not accessories, commodities or things, but sentient beings. Like you and I. They can be your best friend if you let them. They can be amazing emotional support to you too. I know because I suffer from anxiety and animals always make me feel better when in this state of mind. When I am with these pure souls, I feel happy and childlike and know I am in the presence of divinity. Mother nature has always been our best antidote to all the stress and anxiety that the modern world and life has bestowed upon us.
They need our assistance! There's billions of people in the world, so here we go, let's see what we can make happen....... EVEN ONE DOLLAR per person, can make a huge difference, because if enough people donate a dollar, they will all start adding up to thousands of dollars and I will be able to get to work on this huge but very necessary project. I know I can count on my fellow Animal Loving Friends to share this Funding page FAR AND WIDE.
I will need to get facilities big enough, a vehicle to transport the animals, pay vets bills, set up the facilities to be able to handle the animals, food, gosh so much.....But it absolutely HAS to be done. Obviously there is one small but very well known rescue centre in Da Nang, but clearly the more resources we all have, the more we can do. One is most certainly not enough. I will definitely collaborate with them and would love to expand the efforts for us all.
I have received a calling and I can not refuse to answer.
And if you don't have any money to donate, just send me your positive thoughts and prayers and energy for a successful journey with this project ahead. Wishing you light and love my friends. Xxx
