Spartans Malta Volleyball Team Breaking Barriers

Filipino Community - Breaking Barriers and the Rebirth of Volleyball in Malta.

Team Spartans Malta Volleyball Team rose from the ground and broke the barrier of uncertainty as they competed and fought their way to 3rd place in the recently concluded 1st All Filipino Inter- Europe Volleyball League.

Despite having a lot of shortcomings with only half of the team managing to get a Visa to the UK (6 out of 12), they still managed to get a podium finish of 3rd place (Bronze) out of 6 of the 'best of the best' Teams representing their respective country in Europe.

Being the first ever All Filipino Team to represent Malta brought a lot of pressure and doubts.

The team was able to get their strength and confidence with the help and assistance of ENFiD- Malta and FilCom Malta headed by Ms. Ysa De Jesus and The Philippine Consulate in Malta, Mr. Roger Strickland Jr.

The Team gained their reputation by being a Champion at Hospice Malta Festa Sport Volleyball League and the Mater Dei Volleyball League, and to be the first ever Filipino team to have won such Championship title here in Malta.

Though the League may be finished, the Team still has a lot of work to do, as they prepare for the following major leagues,

March 19, 2023 - Malta Volleyball Association Men's League

May 6, 2023- 2nd Filipino Sports Association Inter-Europe Volleyball League

-Geneva, Switzerland

June 17-18, 2023- Philippines Volleyball in Austria League

- Austria.

September 2023 - Milan Volleyball League
