Spartan Race 2014

Following last year's success with 8 members of the Tayside Contracts team spending a Sunday afternoon getting caked in mud and generally battered and bruised in the name of charity, there are 28 of us doing it this year!! For those who have not heard of it, the Spartan Race is an obstacle course challenge over 5k which is designed to test your resilience, strength, stamina and ability to laugh in the face of adversity(?!?). It's a unique obstacle course involving mud, barbed wire, mud, scaling 8 feet walls, ropes, mud, fire and yes, yet more mud! Can you please support us in our efforts as we try to raise valuable funds for the very worthwhile cause that is the Patients' Comfort Fund within Ward 34 at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. Ward 34 provides not only the medical treatment required by those undergoing therapy for various cancer conditions, but the team also provide those other aspects of care which are easily forgotten about but which can make such a difference. Whilst central government funding pays for the medical treatment itself, the Patients' Comfort Fund enables the team to buy things such as an ice machine which goes some small way to providing relief against the burning sensation experienced by those undergoing Chemotherapy.
