Campaign Story
Hi I am jemma, I am the proud mummy of three children. My middle child Isabelle is 3 years old and has a mitochondrial disease. This has caused her to developmentally delayed and have lots of complex care needs. The past three years has been a roller coaster ride, not just coming to terms with my daughters diagnosis but my eyes have been opened to a whole new world, one I never expected to be part of. Through most of it I have been learning as I go, fighting our corner and trying to get the best I can for Isabelle. I have learnt so much from other families that I have been fortunate to meet over this time.Being the parent of a child with special needs can be confusing, lonely and challenging. I'm hoping that this project will provide a space for families to meet and gain support from each other, alongside a space for children to access appropriate play opportunities and have fun.
Money raised will help find a sensory room which children can access as part of stay and play sessions or individually at the Live! Centre in Chester.
