Sow a Seed for Our Dwelling Place

Hi,

My name is Roxzanne, I live in South Africa, married to a wonderful husband, Lunga and we have two beautiful boys aged 5 and 1. We are currently living in Jeffreys Bay a small town on the coast of the Eastern Cape. Lunga and I, both work in the community of Jeffreys Bay for different nonprofit organizations. Lunga is a project manager for a drop in center for vulnerable children on the streets and I work as a computer teacher at a primary school.

The point of this Go Get Funding page is to raise money for us to buy property/land and to be able to build a small eco friendly affordable home for our family. Being workers of an NPO, it is extremely difficult to get any form of support from a bank partly because they don't accept a stipend as formal income and we do not earn enough to qualify for Home Loans/Bond. For the past 5 years we have been praying about owning our own home. Recently we have been given a opportunity to buy property/land at a reasonably low cost, an answer to prayer and an opportunity we feel has been orchestrated by the Lord. The property is 355m2 (3821,19 square feet) situated in a new development in Jeffreys Bay ranging 11,6 hectares (28 acres). This will be an open and safe place for our children to run, explore and grow. We are currently renting a 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor with no garden and not enough play facilities for our kids.

With the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic it has also affected our family financially as it has for many around the world. This opportunity will help us financially in the long run as we will not need to keep renting and relocating every two years. We believe that we are planted here in this community to contribute and serve those around us. This is why we are asking for your kindness to consider helping us in building our dream. Our plan with all the donated funds will be to purchase the land and build a 2 bedroom self-sustainable home (100m2). With this new development we are fortunate to dream with other self builders as we desire to create a eco friendly village with strong community values together.

With all this said, we are no just sitting back and waiting for the money to roll in. We both have small sideline businesses that we run apart from the jobs we already have. We would love to exchange with you where it would be possible. Lunga is a skilled carpenter and a small scale farmer focusing on community development and skills empowerment using regenerative agriculture. I, Roxzanne, love to create digital design, anything from business logos to wall posters.
