Cancer Champs – Southern Cross NPO

We are a non-profit organization whose main aim is to help kids suffering from cancer and the parent(s) who struggle financially. We call on coordinating volunteers and request for sponsorship from businesses, public, churches, schools and each and every other person or group to help us make the plight of these children and their parent(s) lighter.

Our aim at this stage is to start by giving general assistance to these children suffering from cancer and especially single parents. Provide transport to hospital. Assistance to help lower the cost for medication. Provide the parent(s) with shelter, transport clothing and food in this time. (All the necessary necessities).
Counseling if none is provided to these parent(s) and children dear to our hearts.

Our current beneficiaries:

Heini

…. is a 9 year old boy suffering from brain cancer and stay in a small town in the country side…

He needs to go every 2 months to Grootte Schuur Hospital for tests and treatment.
His mother is a single parent with no income, because she has to look after Ben 2411 and only wants the best for him
The annual expenses towards Heini is +- R60 000 (ZAR)

Carla

…is a 2 year old little girl with a rare type of cancer of the bladder (Rhabdomyosarcoma Stage 3)

..an operation was done and2l3 of her bladder was removed and for the next coming year she will have to undergo chemotherapy every second week. They are staying in a small town in the country side and have to
travel to the city where the Red Cross Children’s Memorial Hospital is.

The costs involving each trip will have an enormous impact on her fathers finances.

There also have to be taken in account that food and over night staying costs will have

to be paid for

They need financial assistance very urgently

The annual expenses towards Carla is +- R l07 520 (ZAR)

Our long term plan is to generate enough funds, to buy a property in the Western Cape in order to build facilities to cater for the needs of these SPECIAL little persons. They did not ask for what they get, let us help them!
